Tanya Burr Mistletoe Kisses Lip Gloss

I managed to grab this lip gloss in a sale for only £1.99 (from here) and really wanted to try this particular shade because not only do I love a red lip colour, but I am a bit Christmas obsessed so the fact this shade is called Mistletoe Kisses, I couldn't resist buying it! It is a really nice shade of red, not too bright but definitely buildable if you like a lot of gloss on your pout! It has little flecks of gold glitter that look very festive and pretty.

My favourite thing about this gloss is how soft it made my lips and the gorgeous light strawberry scent!

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil - Bahama

A few weeks back I bought the NARS Bahama Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. Words can't describe how much I love this! But I'll try haha. It's easy to apply, easy to remove, but at the same time very long lasting. I didn't need to reapply at all today. I love the colour, but what really wins me over is the fact that I have finally found a matte lip colour that doesn't leave me with dried out lips and has staying power. The colour is a pinky sort of brown, and looks great for a day look or evening look. My first ever NARS buy, and most certainly not my last.

Full list of makeup & accessories I'm wearing today

Enchanted Eyes

I love to wear bright colours under my eyes recently for a bold pop of colour. Here I used mememe cosmetics Enchanted Eyes in Midnight Storm. It is a duel ended cream wand with each end having a complimenting shade. I used both shades for this look, starting with the lighter colour at the corners of my eyes (and going slightly upwards at the corner), sweeping towards the middle, and then the darker shade going from the outer of my eye and then blending the two colours in the middle. I found the colours stayed in place really well, but were easy to remove with makeup wipes at the end of the day. The creamy texture of the pencil made the colours really easy to apply. Echanted Eyes wand colours cost £6.95 and you can get them from here.

And if you are loving the black glitter bats I have in my hair, then you can get these from the ever so talented Janine Basil. These bats are made in a way so they can cling onto your hair, you simply press them on!

Wildcat body jewellery review

I ordered some new jewellery for my piercings from wildcat last week, and they arrived the other day. I got a new nose stud, this one is the steel basicline nostril dome stud, £2.99. I love this nose stud, it's not too big and not too small! I also got my new septum clicker. I've been wanting a septum clicker for years now, and was really impressed to see that Wildcat do affordable clickers that are just as stunning as expensive ones. They have quite a range of different styles and colours of septum clickers too. The one I got was the steel basicline jewelled hinged septum ring, £7.99. I love it! It fits nicely, the white little gems are really pretty when they catch the light, and it disguises my deviated septum ever so slightly. My labret bar I previously bought from Wildcat, and is just a standard labret bar.
I did also order another septum ring but they had very low stock and by the time they got my order through they were sold out so I am waiting for them to get that type restocked.

So to sum up, I am loving my new piercing jewellery! If you're wanting some pretty pieces at affordable prices with a variety of designs, then I suggest Wildcat.

My tips for staying cool in a UK heatwave

I am not a summer person. Give me autumn and winter over spring and summer any day. It's not that I dislike all things summery, it's just that here in the UK it gets so humid and heavy, and it all aggravates my joint hypermobility syndrome. My joints are super SUPER bendy in the heat, but  my stomach goes all bendy too which leads me to spending the majority of the summer feeling like I have morning sickness or an epic hangover. Not much fun. So here are a few of the things I find helpful to stay cool in the summer.

  • Drink water. I know it's nice to have fizzy drinks or alcohol on a hot day, but water is the thing that's going to keep you hydrated. Keep it cool in the fridge if you can
  • Carry a bottle of water when you go out. I buy a 12 pack of the 33cl size bottles of Evian, one of those fits great in my bag when I'm out and about or in a hot car
  • Loose fitting clothes made of light materials are great for letting your skin breathe
  • Wear a nice hat!
  • Sunglasses won't keep you cool but will protect your eyes
  • On very hot days keep your curtains shut to keep out the suns glare
  • Electric fans. I just got a stand up electric fan from Asda, it's brilliant for in the hot evenings
  • Ice lollies are great!
  • If you are prone to fainting in the heat and need to go out, try to go with a family member/friend that can help incase you do faint
  • Avoid (if possible) going out in the sun at the hottest point in the day
So that's just the things I try to do to keep from getting over heated. If you've got any good tips then let me know! x
