ASOS sale bargains

*This post includes affiliate links

Feeling super cute with my new high tops and slouchy glitter socks! I got these in the ASOS sale. The high tops are silver with a metallic, holographic finish. The look so shimmery in the sunlight! They work great with jeans and leggings, but I love wearing mine with dresses. Totally makes me feel like a space princess!
The slouch socks are glittery, soft, and again look great with a dress. I'm wearing mine pulled down here but these are long enough to go up to the knee.

Have any of you found some great buys in the ASOS sale? Let me know in the comments section below!

Our favourite family Christmas films

*This post includes affiliate links

Here is our list of Christmas films that we absolutely love! In no particular order as it is so hard to choose a favourite. These are our family favourites that are great for us to watch with Dylan and Evie.

  Arthur Christmas
A heartwarming tale of Santa's second son Arthur, trying to deliver a toy to a child that has been missed on Christmas Eve. Produced by Aardman Animations, this film has it all. It's fun, it's got moments of realness in the way families interact, and it's such a warm story. All four of us love this film and we often watch it throughout the year!

Jingle All The Way
I remember watching this as a child and finding it great fun. This stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad. Lots of mishaps and chaos as Arnie's character rushes to find his child the one toy he really wants on Christmas Eve.

Just has to be watched every Christmas doesn't it? This is a rare gem for us as it's a cheesy Christmas film that even my husband will watch and enjoy thank to Will Ferrell's role as Buddy the Elf.

 The Gruffalo
Dylan and Evelyn still love this. It's cosy and relaxing and great for before bedtime.

The Snowman and the Snowdog
Another one that's relaxing and fit for before bedtime calming down time. A great sequel to the original Snowman, this is the story about how a young child's snowman and snow dog come to life. I personally prefer The Snowman, but Dylan and Evie love this one.

What are your favourite family friendly Christmas films?

Pick n Melt review

*This item was sent to me to review, but all of my opinions are my own

Two of my favourite things are Christmas and candles, so I was more than pleased to receive a Christmas Gift Set from Pick n Melt. This pack includes a wax warmer, and 2 bags of the following Christmas scents; Christmas Time, Christmas Spice, Robin Red Breast, Cocoa & Log Fire, Frankincense & Myrrh, Mistletoe & Wine, Festive Tree, and Snow. This gift pack costs £12 and would make a great gift!

I have so far melted Festive Tree. It has really made my entire living room smell like Christmas. You'd be forgiven for thinking my plastic Christmas tree is real whilst I have this scent melting away!

Pick n Melt also offer a wax melt subscription service, where you can receive 18 small bags in your choice of 6 scents for just £8.00 a month. You can also get 30 small bags in a choice of 10 scents, for £12.00 a month. Such a great deal!

Johnny Loves Rosie review

*I was sent these items to review, all opinions are my own and 100% honest

Johnny Loves Rosie is a brand that creates beautiful pieces of jewellery and accessories that are ahead of the game. They're elegant, unique, and striking all at the same time! I received a gorgeous gold snowflake bracelet, and a magical looking ear cuff set.

The snowflake bracelet is so delicate and dainty, it would look great with any outfit this Christmas. Whether you're dressing up for a party, or staying casual, this bracelet would be perfect for finishing off that Winter look.  It comes on a pretty snowflake card, complete with envelope, which makes it ideal for giving as a gift.

The ear cuff is gold plated, with crystal embellishment. It slips over the ear and sits comfortably. It comes with a pair of crystal earrings. Again this can be worn with an evening look, or can glam up a more casual outfit. I absolutely love this piece and felt like some sort of Elf princess whilst wearing it!

Autumn walk photo diary

Here are some photos I took while I was out on a short walk recently. I don't get out as often as I'd like thanks to my joint pains, so when I do feel well enough it's great. It was a lovely cold, and at times sunny, day. I am so glad I took my camera out with me!

Prestige Flowers review

*I was sent these flowers to review, but my opinions are my own
Let's take a moment to just take in just how absolutely beautiful these flowers are. Stunning aren't they.

This beautiful bouquet is from Prestige Flowers that I was very lucky to have had sent to me. They came in a beautiful gift bag, with the vase, sachet of food for the flowers to enjoy, and chocolate truffles. Also included with the flowers is a great little note telling you how best to look after your flowers, and a reminder that lilies are fatal to cats and can stain furniture and clothing. My flowers arrived quickly, a little bashed due to the delivery man handling my clearly marked 'this way up' box upside down. Luckily they perked up once they'd had some water and the stems cut! The lilies come still in buds, so that they can blossom once you've got them and they'll last that bit longer. Prestige Flowers are easy to order, and are perfect as gifts for birthdays,Christmas Flowers, or just to treat yourself!

Makeup of the day - 7th November

Today I have been playing with my newest purchase, the Only for Unicorns palette from Violeteyes Cosmetics. It has TWENTY big and bold eyeshadows, and I can't wait to try all of them.
Today I used four of the colours - white, pale pink, black, and orange.

Here I used a little of the pink as a blusher. I then used the white shade as a highlighter, applying it to my cheekbones, under my brows, and a little on my nose! It's such a shimmery shade that I found it works great as a highlighter! I then applied the black eyeshadow with a wet brush for my eyeliner. It stayed in place all day, better than most actual eyeliners I've used.

I then applied the orange colour with a wet brush under my eyes to create a nice bright pop of autumnal colour.
So happy that I bought this palette, the colours are just gorgeous and long lasting. Not only that but Violeteyes cosmetics are cruelty free and vegan!

Here are a few of my favourite films

 This post includes affiliate links

As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, I find I watch a lot more films while snuggled up under a big blanket. My best friend regularly comes round for a film night in the colder months, where we'll eat junk food and pop some candles on while we watch something good (or so bad it's good!). We would probably do this in the summer months too, but it gets far too hot inside! So here's my list of some of my most favourite things to watch. I hope you enjoy!

The 'Burbs

Such a fantastic '80s film, with Tom Hanks living the surburban life, whilst becoming increasingly convinced that there is something morbid going on with the new neighbours. Full of laughs!

Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring

I first watched this when I was at home from school ill with the flu. A friend lent me the dvd as it had just come out. I had never seen anything like it and was in awe of the whole thing. The story, the visuals, the music. I loved seeing the hobbits in their homes at the beginning, and the scenes in Rivendell were beautiful. I didn't expect to love it so much and I was hooked.

 The Princess Bride

I first watched this when I was very young, and loved the fantasy, the princess, the love story. Then as I got older I loved it for it's humour, its tongue in cheek moments, it's action (and of course still the fantasy, love and Princess Buttercup!).

Fern Gully

Another film that I fell in love with at a young age. I credit this film for giving me my desire to understand about nature, pollution, and trying to protect the world we live in. The songs are fun, and includes great voice acting from Tim Curry and Robin Williams.

Little Women

A heartwarming tale of the March sisters. Based on the book by Louisa May Alcott. I find this a very emotional film, even more so as I am one of four sisters myself. And we also used to put on little plays in our spare time, with my sisters often saying I was very much like Jo. Great film, with a strong cast.

I have so many more films that I love, but these few are my ultimate favourites!

Today was a pain day

Today I wasn't feeling too great thanks to my Joint Hypermobility Syndrome flaring up, causing me lots of pain. So I mostly stayed at home and just had some me time. I did my makeup, listened to a few chapters of an audiobook, watched some AbFab, and played on the 3ds. Here's a few photos from today.

TOTM organic cotton pads review

*I was sent these items to review but all opinions are my own

TOTM (time of the month) make organic cotton tampons, pads, and liners. These are biodegradable, hypoallergenic and contain no harmful chemicals or perfumes. You can buy from their website and they come delivered in discreet packaging You can now also buy their products at Ocado.

So the first thing I noticed about the pads, was that the wrapper was so quiet to remove. Great for when you're trying to change them discreetly! The pads stay in place easily, and I have a medium to heavy flow and had no leaking issues. These are also super soft, I'm assuming because of them being cotton. They were so comfortable to wear, which of course is what you want when you're on your period.

I would 100% recommend TOTM!

ASOS accessories

So I bought these super cute items from ASOS. They only took 4 days to arrive at mine, and were packaged in nice black cardboard jewellery boxes with the ASOS logo.
Here I am wearing my new reclaimed vintage star choker, and this very sparkly rose gold plated bar which I've fitted in my helix piercing. I've had so many compliments already on them both, but especially the choker. I'm feeling all '90s wearing it right now!
