BenQ e-reading desk lamp

I was sent this item to review, all opinions are my own.

I absolutely love how minimalist this BenQ e-reading desk lamp makes my desk look.  I love it's sleek design. It has a sturdy, heavy base which means there is no danger of this lamp tipping over at all. It's long curved light means that it spreads light further than other lights and lights up my whole computer screen and desk.

Another fantastic feature is that to turn it on, you simply touch the metal ring. Touch the metal ring for 2 seconds and it enters a e-reading mode that reduces glare from your desktop/laptop etc's screen. There's also a dial on top of the lamp that allows you to manually adjust the brightness of the lamp. As a family we have not only used this for computer based work but it's allowed our children to sit and do homework in the evenings with a much better lighting.

The head of the lamp is adjustable, as well as the arm attached to the base being able to rotate. This means wherever you need the light, you've got it. The lamp is available in blue, green, gold, or red, as well as the silver coloured lamp which is the one I received.

I have a 10% discount (valid until 31st March 2018) for my readers to use at the BenQ Webstore using the voucher code: BENQ10EF

Kawaii Box November box review

I was sent this item to review, all opinions are my own

One of my favourite things about Kawaii Box is the total surprise of what is going to be inside each month. One thing you can guarantee on is that it will all be totally cute cute cute! I was loving everything inside the box I received this month, although I am sure I will always love everything that comes in these subscription boxes.

I let out a loud excited "yay!" when I opened the box to see this one inside. What a cutie pie! This is a Techi Techi Gomarachi seal plush and it's probably the cutest cuddly thing ever.

This soft Kanahei soft string bag is adorable. I've been using mine to store my ipad mini in as it's the perfect size.

So many pretty twinkle jewels. You can use these for crafts, or decorating things like your phone. I'm probably going to use these as face and hair gems when I'm having days where I want to feel super cute!

This little Let's Go mini notebook comes with a little mini pen and is perfect for jotting down notes and doodles and keeping in your bag.

In this months box I also got this fun rain boot pen, these food hair clips that Evie my daughter has already asked if she can wear, and a bag of Kasugai chibi vege ramune candies. I also had a Gudetama sticker set but my son Dylan had already run off with those before I had a chance to photo!

If you would like to win yourself your very own Kawaii Box, please enter the competition below!

Knee support brace review

I was sent this item to review.

This is the knee support brace from Calibre Support. It's easy to wear as it fastens with velcro, which also means it's fully adjustable. You can make it tighter if needs be or loosen it easily. It's made of soft neoprene material which makes it really comfortable, and it's also easy to just fold up and pop in your bag.

As I've mentioned on here before, I have Joint Hypermobility Syndrome (now known as Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder). This means I get daily joint pain, and frequent dislocations and unstable joints among other things. I often use different supports for helping things stay in place or to ease pain.

This particular support has been great for days when I'm needing a little extra stability in my knees, and for applying some pressure to the area to ease pain.  However if my joints were very unstable I would probably use something with a little more strength behind it due to have severe my condition can be.
I really like how lightweight this is and again it's very comfortable, and easy to wear over or under clothing. It's also not restrictive and I am able to fully bend my knee whilst wearing it thanks to the open patella section, although still getting that added support.

*This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

It's almost that time of the year again, are you all as excited as I am?! Have you started Christmas shopping yet? Or perhaps even nearly finished. Or are you more of a "wait until December" shopper? Well whatever your Christmas shopping style, here is a gift guide that I hope will help you find some great things for your loved ones. All of these fantastic products can be found at EMP.

House Targaryen Pillow - £19.99

Know a Game of Thrones fan? This Targaryen pillow is absolutely awesome! The front features the crest of House Targaryen, and the print on the back has crests of the other houses.

Swimming mermaid watch - £32.99

The Little Mermaid has been a favourite film of mine since I was little, so I am so excited to see this beautiful watch. The stunning front of the watch shows swimming mermaid detail, and opens up to reveal the watch face with Ariel. This has such pretty detail to it. I am making a note of this one for my own Christmas list!

Rick and Morty shot glasses - £12.99

This set contains four shot glasses with designs of characters from the hit comedy series. Fun for those Christmas parties, or even as collectible items if you don't drink alcohol.

Playstation classic gift set - £19.99

This is a great Christmas gift set for anyone that is a Playstation fan. It includes a classic style mug, large glass, and coasters.

Stranger Things action figures set 2 - £24.99

Who else is a massive fan of Stranger Things? It's one of the best series I've ever watched. I'm kind of sad that I've already finished watching the latest series! I'm going to have to go back and re watch the first season I think. This set has vinyl action figures of Will, Dustin, and a scary looking Demogorgon.

So, if you're a big fan of music, television, gaming, and films, check out EMP for some truly cool gift ideas this Christmas!

Possibly the best face mask

I was really lucky to be sent this rose and argan moisture mask from the lovely people at Amie. Amie are a skincare brand that create products that not only work really well, but are natural and kind to your skin. I've used some of their other items before and loved them and gone on to repurchase when I've run out. So I was very excited to test this one out!

My first impressions were how gorgeous the packaging looks. I love the gold! It's a mixture of luxury and simplistic. I was also very happy to see it clearly labelled as suitable for vegans. It's always nice when things are clearly labelled so you don't have to work out ingredients lists.

The super-renewing moisture mask doesn't have a strong scent, in fact I couldn't smell anything. This is such a positive point for me as I'm not the biggest fan of putting something on my face that is heavily perfumed. To use you simply apply a thin layer on your face, and wash off with water after ten minutes or so. I left mine on longer than that as I settled down to watch a bit of tv. When I rinsed it off it was immediately noticeable just how soft my face felt compared to before using this. It really did feel baby soft! The best thing is that that super soft feeling lasted for days so it wasn't a case where you apply something and next day your skins back to normal. I'm totally in love with this mask and will certainly carry on using it!

Films I have watched in October

I love watching films. I have a chronic illness that makes it quite difficult to sleep (as well as being heavily pregnant) so I watch a lot of films and tv shows to fill the time and distract from pain. Here's my list of films I've watched during the month of October!

  • Pirates of the Caribbean - Salazar's Revenge
  • Willow
  • The Princess Bride
  • The Gruffalo's Child
  • Elf
  • The Stepford Wives
  • A Child's Christmas in Wales
  • The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring
  • Christmas Eve
  • Gremlins
  • Poseidon
  • 2012
  • Warcraft
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • The Gruffalo
  • Chicken Run
  • Arthur Christmas
There are a few more days left of October but I'm currently watching lots of tv series so I don't plan on watching any more films this month.

Do you love watching films too? What have you been watching lately?

Skin Elixir perfume review

I was sent this perfume from Skin Elixir to try out and review. Their perfumes are unisex, cruelty free and vegan, and hand crafted.

First of all, I have to say that I really loved how well this item was packaged. The elegant paper matched the perfume bottle well. The box also had a nice gold and dark blue ribbon tie around it but my postie had accidentally ripped it off! I also really liked the sleek gold business card that Skin Elixir have.

The Sangfroid perfume I received came in a bottle with a roller ball end making it nice and easy to apply. Also means no leaks when carrying in a bag. It has a deep, but not overbearing, fragrance. I liked the hints of vanilla in this but I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of frankincense. My husband on the other hand liked this scent and has been using it as a beard oil which is another great thing that this can be used for.

Glitter wishlist

*This post includes affiliate links

Everyone who knows me knows I have a deep love for anything glittery. I love a good sparkle! Not only for how amazing glitter looks, but I also actually love looking at it as a distraction when I have overwhelming anxiety. I always tend to have at least one thing on my person that is super sparkly and if I'm struggling I'll try and concentrate on the glitter in the sunlight. I've always been a huge fan of glitter, it just makes me feel that little bit happier. I wonder if it's because I grew up in the nineties, that stuff was everywhere! So here are some of my current faves that are super glittery.

Purple Glitter Mini Backpack - £25.99

I am so in love with this backpack. I love the purple glitter, I've not seen many purple glitter items out there so this is a nice change. The colour of this glitter bag also makes me think of space.

Silver glitter ballet pumps - £11.99

Glittery shoes are my thing! I've had many different type of shoes over the years that are glittery in some way. I'm a fan of these style of glitter shoes when it comes to festive gatherings, they're the perfect thing to make an outfit look that extra special.  I would wear these with a nice dress and tights.

Glitter bomb pen - £10.00

This ballpoint pen is so luxurious looking and makes doing paper work look way more appealing.

Medusas Make-Up Pegasus glitter - £5.99

Medusa's makeup is a vegan brand. They have a wide range of different products and colours. Pegasus Glitter is a beautiful purple fine loose glitter. Great for any time you want sparkle, which is every day if you're like me!

Have you seen any extra special glittery items that have caught your eye lately?

Pregnancy excitement and worries

I am now coming in to my 29th week of pregnancy. I am a mixture of absolute happiness and excitement, and nerves and worry. So far in this pregnancy everything has gone quite smoothly really. Although I did end up in the maternity assessment unit a few weeks back due to a suspected lung clot - luckily it seems like it was a pulled muscle or painful rib.

My Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder can make pregnancy a bit more tricky and there are a few things I have to be careful of. I've already had two children with not many issues in  pregnancy - but each pregnancy is different and my condition has worsened over the years. So it's been playing on my mind. As my joints are already super bendy, I have to be even more careful of dislocation and muscle and joint pain/damage, there could also be complications in labour as I have rapid births and tear easily. I've been very nervous of my condition, especially in the early stages when my body started to change. However it's not really been any worse until very recently. I'm now finding sleep very difficult as my hips hurt so much, and using pillows so far is just causing me to dislocate! So I'm having to just try and ease the hip pains with hot water bottles, massage, and rolling frequently on to my other side once one hip starts to hurt more than the other. Not ideal, but with only just over two months to go, I'm feeling grateful it didn't start up much sooner.

A big thing that I was concerned about was what if I needed an emergency c-section. Local anesthetic doesn't work on me at all. As I've had Dylan and Evelyn without problems in labour, they believe I should be fine to have a vaginal birth. However if I need an unplanned c-section, I wanted to ensure that they all know local won't work. I was given an appointment with the anesthetist and I was so glad to hear that she already knew a lot about Ehlers Danlos and Hypermobility and how a fair amount of us don't react to local. She assured me that if it was needed at all, they would attempt a spinal block and do all the checks regularly and be able to top it up to make sure I won't be able to feel a thing. She also said if it still made me nervous, they would be fine to just immediately give me a general anesthetic (when you are completely asleep) as I've already had surgery and know that that does work for me. She wrote all of this in my pregnancy notes and put a big yellow sticker on the front so it won't be missed that this is part of the birth plan if c-setion is needed. I am so relieved that we were able to have this meeting quite early on as obviously it was a big worry! I had to have stitches after I gave birth to Dylan and the local didn't work at all. It ended up being more painful than the birth itself.

Over the years I've also had quite a few early miscarraiges which has been heartbreaking. This was a huge worry in the first trimester. So now I feel extra lucky to be able to say here we are with this baby growing happily. We're approaching his due date and things are going well. He is measuring right on track for his stage, he's got a little routine going on where he's super active and kicking about. He even reacts when we talk to him which is amazing! When CHris puts his hands on my bump, the baby actually moves towards his hands, like he's cuddling in. I am trying to focus on all of this on days when I get a bit too anxious about the what ifs, which are easy to get lost in at times.

Tomorrow I am hoping that we'll rearrange the furniture in our room so we can get his little moses basket set up! It'll be exciting to see it up and ready for him. I also realised the other day that there's still a lot of things I need to get. I need a changing mat for him, a changing station as I know my back won't be able to handle the constant bending for nappy changes without one. Also need to get a hospital bag sorted and all the bits for myself - nursing nighties, a nightie to wear during labour, maternity pads and so on.

December isn't that far away. I am so looking forward to meeting baby and having that first cuddle.

Sylvanian Families Toy Poodle Family and Candy Wagon

*We were sent these items to review, all opinions are our own

Evie was so happy to receive the Toy Poodle Family and the Candy Wagon from Sylvanian Families last week. I barely had time to take photos before she'd got them out of the packaging to play with! As always from Sylvanian Families, everything was super cute. Evie loves the Poodle family and kept saying how soft they are.

The Candy Wagon was easy to put together in around 5 minutes, and adding the stickers in the correct places was simple enough. Making the three little candy boxes was a little bit trickier but didn't take long. The candy cart comes with a decent selection of different coloured and shaped lollipops and sweets for your Sylvanian families. The set also comes with a couple of small plastic bags and ties for packaging the sweets - such a nice touch and Evie loves bagging up the orders!

Here's a video of Evie playing with the Candy Wagon with some of her Sylvanian Families

I got sent this months box from the lovely people at Kawaii Box to review. All opinions are my own. I hope you enjoy this review and if you'd like the chance to win a Kawaii Box for yourself, then please enter my giveaway at the end of this post!

First off let's start with just how beautiful the packaging itself is! It really is just so perfectly pretty. This is my first ever Kawaii Box and I can honestly hand on heart say - this will not be my last! Such a fantastic range of items and all so adorable. Every item in my box will be used and loved.

So here's what was in the box;

This is a squishy unicorn charm and it's a nice big size. It's so squishy and I know I'm gonna be sat squishing it loads haha. I'm going to attach this one to the zip on my handbag. I also love that this unicorn is blue and white.

Happy Nikukyu cat paw gummies. My children Dylan & Evie will love these!

Fairy Tale hair clips. These are very cute and I can't wait to wear these when I wear my hair up in space buns. Evie will most definitely be asking to borrowing these and trying to wear them to school!

This is a roll of washi masking tape. Ideal for scrap books and journals.

This is a kawaii hand sanitizer bottle. It's a great travel size and will come in handy for holidays. Loving the cupcake design so much.

Uranaikko coloured pencils set. Possibly the cutest colouring pencils I have ever seen! These are a perfect size for taking away with you in your bag. The lid is even a pencil sharpener.

I got a Tigger Disney Ufufy plushie! I have been admiring the ufufy products for ages so was over the moon to see this cutie in the box. I love it!

Little Animals stationery set. The set includes the pencil case, 2 pencils, a writing pen, ruler, pencil sharpener, and a rubber. Everything you need for work or school!

The cutest Hello Kitty pencil case tin! Loving the pastel colours and cute design. The best part though is when you open it...
It's got some times tables on the inside! This is perfect for helping learn them. Or a great reminder if like me once you finished school you pretty much forgot them.

And last but not least, here are some Korean diary deco stickers!

Thank you so much Kawaii Box!

Evie's gift for our baby

Dylan and Evie are both really excited about having a new brother. With baby being due in December it's not really that long to go now! We went in to our local Mothercare recently as I wanted to buy a few essentials that were currently in the sales, and of course have a good browse.

Evie saw this gorgeous unicorn and told us that she really wanted us to get it for the baby, as a gift from her. She said she just knows he will love it, because who doesn't love a unicorn? She's not wrong! I am so happy at how much both of the kids love this little baby, and it's so cute that Evie wanted to buy a gift. I am loving the pastel colours, I honestly think this is the most beautiful unicorn I have ever seen.

We are starting to decorate our room next week, getting it ready for the baby's arrival. We need to repaint, and then rearrange furniture so that the cot will fit. Then this beautiful unicorn will sit in the cot, waiting for baby! Obviously when he is born this will be more room decor or us holding it and playing with it with the baby until the baby is a bit older. I wouldn't want to risk him getting the fluffy tail in his mouth.

This gorgeous plush unicorn cost £12 and is available here.
Oh and the best part? When we looked at the little tag around it's neck, we saw that the Unicorn was called Evie!

Dylan and Evie's cuddly toys

Dylan and Evie really wanted me to show you all some of their favourite cuddly toys. So here they are! We do love cuddly toys and plushies in this house. Their two fave ones aren't in this photo as they are so played with that they needed a good wash in the washing machine and were not dry yet!

So up first we have mermaid Hello Kitty. Evie got this one last year, I think from Father Christmas but none of us can quite remember. Evie is a massive Hello Kitty fan and has a few of the different cuddly ones.

Then we have Tabor the white tiger TY beanie. Evie got this just last week from Hawkins Bazaar. It's so soft! She's been taking it everywhere. I've had to talk her out of having it sat next to her at tea times, I just know it'd end up with food all over it.

Heffalump! I got this years ago for both Dylan and Evie when they were really little, like baby and toddler sized. It's looking a little tired now but still gets played with, althouth mainly by Evie now.

Then last but not least, we have Tauri the cat TY beanie. This one is Dylan's that he also bought from Hawkins Bazaar. He loves this cat so much! Dylan's favourite animal are cats, anything with a cat on and he wants it. Tauri is super soft. I love the glittery eyes that Tauri and Tabor have.

My Minnie Mouse cushion is also in this photo. Although not a cuddly toy, it is very cuddly and I love it! I got this from Primark a little while back.

Thanks for reading!

Vinyl figure wishlist

*Affiliate links are included in this post.

These are my favourite and most wanted pop! vinyl figures at the moment. Do you own any pop! vinyl figures, and if so which ones? Which ones are you hoping to collect in the future?
